Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated firing Real Madrid to Champions League glory by sporting a daring new hairstyle and the Portugal captain has revealed his reason for doing so.
The prolific forward scored twice as Madrid became the first team in the Champions League era to defend the trophy thanks to a 4-1 beating of Juventus in Cardiff.
Ronaldo's spiky hairstyle has been his trademark look since establishing himself as a global superstar at Manchester United and then Madrid, but the 32-year-old displayed a new buzz-cut style following Los Blancos' triumph.

The hairdo has split opinion, but Ronaldo explained that the close shave was due to a promise he made before the match.
"It was a promise. I'd promised that, if we won the Champions League and I scored a goal, I'd do it. I did it and I shaved myself," he told Real Madrid TV.

"I always try to do my best for the team and things are going well. The truth is that the numbers don't lie. You can always count on me."
